About Our Corporate Work Study Program

Business Park is a program within Helix Mentorship & Maritime Academy, an open enrollment, public charter school serving grades 9-12. It combines the rigorous college prep curriculum of Helix Schools with a Corporate Work Study internship. Each 10th -12th grade student at Business Park is partnered with a Baton Rouge area business for a work internship. Freshman students spend a year taking preparatory classes before being partnered with a business internship their sophomore year.

Once a week, each student works an entire workday at their internship and attends school the other four days. The school day and year are slightly longer to accommodate the time missed while at work.
