GEO Prep Mid-City of Greater Baton Rouge is a free public charter school serving students from kindergarten through 8th grade and is committed to ensure that all students show growth in character, academics, life skills, the arts, and wellness using teaching skills tailored to meet the needs of each student. Our curriculum and our teaching methods are designed to let your child excel as fast as their ability allows. This kind of competency-based approach lets kids of higher ability progress past students their same age. It also permits students to regroup, master material not mastered at a more restrictive school, then, with new-found confidence, race toward their academic potential. We are part of the GEO Academies network of schools that includes GEO Prep Academy, a K-8 school and GEO Next Generation High School Baton Rouge currently enrolling 9th-11th grades. GEO Prep Mid City earned the Top Gains Honoree Award 2018 – Louisiana Dept. of Education.

Special Education Programming
GEO Prep utilizes a variety of cutting-edge and proven methods to increase our students’ academic success. We aim to prepare each child to not only graduate from high school, but also ready to enter into college and earn a degree.
For each and every child that walks through our doors, college is an expectation. From day one, students receive a tailored education to make this possible. It’s an education that fits. Our vision is to go beyond a typical college prep education and empower our students with college experience, workforce readiness, and community leadership so that they are prepared to compete, excel and lead in the 21st Century’s global economy.
We use successful teaching methods and technology in an updated one-room schoolhouse environment. This promotes learning tailored to each individual student. Using this approach, our students advance academically, socially, and personally, sometimes at a surprising pace. Each student is an adult in training and when our teachers, staff and parents cooperate, great things happen.
