We believe in student joy and affirmation as our primary behavior approach. In place of punitive and damaging disciplinary practices, we engage in Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices. Our cultural system embodies the belief that when the culture we have built is harmed, peace needs to be made. It also targets the behavior and action instead of the student. We guide our practice using restorative justice, social-emotional learning, and positive behavior interactions to develop our scholars' reflective decision-making skills. These commitments improve character by teaching accountability, responsibility, forgiveness, and self-advocacy; all things integral to sustaining a positive and safe community.
