Mission Statement

Louisiana Key Academy’s mission is to serve the community at large, to educate and remediate children with dyslexia in an evidence-based curriculum, and to stand as an excellent model and resource for other schools and communities.

All students who attend LKA receive specialized instruction in the form of Academic Language Therapy under the guidance of a trained therapist. This program is evidence-based and tailored to the needs of the dyslexic child with all elements of language being explicitly and sequentially taught. The goal of this program is to develop fluent readers as close to grade level as possible.

  • Student Support Services: Counseling, Advisory, Community Partnerships, Tutoring, School Nurse
  • Behavior Approach: Conscious Discipline – Positive behavior interventions and supports, restorative practices and school-wide incentive systems, parent conferences, behavior plans and trackers.

Weekly Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm
Before and After Care: 6:30am – 8:15am , 2:45pm – 5:30pm
